Privacy Policy

WeOttawa collects only the information needed to coordinate local Ottawa events: your verified email address, display name, neighborhood, selected interests, and event RSVPs.

• Passwordless Security: Magic sign-in tokens are stored as irreversible SHA-256 hashes and expire after 15 minutes or first use.
• Attendee Visibility Control: Your name and photo are only displayed on event attendee lists if you explicitly enable attendee visibility in your profile settings.
• Private Venue Protection: Exact residential addresses for private gatherings are hidden from public visitors and revealed only to confirmed guests.
• Spam & Abuse Protection: Public magic-link sign-in and contact forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA and rate limiting to prevent automated spam.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from your Profile Settings page, which anonymizes personal profile fields and cancels upcoming RSVPs.
